B.Arch | California College of the Arts
Mariana is a Bay Area native who decided to pursue her dream in architecture following six years serving in the Air Force and a brief exploration of the field of International Business and Finance. She received her B.Arch. degree from CCA in 2017 and worked for McGriff Architects and Tara Baker Interior Design before joining Buter Armsden Architects in 2021.
Mariana enjoys the problem solving and challenging architectural constraints that are inevitably a part of the design process. She draws inspiration from Bauhaus architecture and appreciates its clean, minimal lines and its increased accessibility to modern design for more people. During her years living abroad in Germany and South Korea, Mariana took advantage of new travel opportunities throughout Europe and Asia, sparking a new passion for travel. She also likes to explore places closer to home while camping and backpacking in the West.
When not traveling or bringing her creative ideas to her projects at Butler Armsden, Mariana enjoys preparing elaborate dinners for her friends and family and studying food history. Her favorite building in San Francisco is the Rincon Annex with its Art Deco details and murals.
