We need someone to support our staff in their growth through various touch points. Our annual review cycle is tailored to each staff member to ensure that the channels of communication are always open and feedback is clear. Strategically scheduled check-ins throughout the year help to ensure that they have the ability to navigate their journey with clarity.

Position Description:
The HR Generalist, in partnership with the CEO, will be responsible for supporting the development, and then the implementation and administration of effective HR operations including recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, payroll and benefits, performance and career conversations, compensation, leaves of absences, professional development, employee experience, compliance, and employment policies and practices. The HR Generalist supports employee engagement events and activities, contributing to a positive employee experience and strong sense of community across the organization.
Responsibilities:
Support HR structures and processes that will improve the employee experience, support operations, streamline administration and improve overall productivity
Suggest ways to improve employee experience as well as the efficiency of HR operations and communications; provide dedicated and effective advice to employees that covers absence and health issues, employee concerns and suggestions, and other employee-relations matters
Assist with the recruitment process by screening applications, coordinating interviews, posting jobs to targeted job sites, conducting reference checks, and issuing offer letters
Prepare workflow, documentation, and communications for smooth on and offboarding process; coordinate and document exit interview findings
Prepare and process semi-monthly payroll, including reviewing hours and entering deductions and benefits enrollments/changes; enter 401(k) contributions
Oversee employee benefits and wellness programs; assist with benefits open enrollment timelines, deliverables, and communications
Coordinate the performance and career development process; prepare surveys and compile survey data; support communications and performance cycle timelines
Assist with compiling accurate compensation data for submission to compensation market data surveys; assist with updating of job architecture structure and supporting tools and resources for managers and employees; field general compensation questions from managers and employees
Coordinate leaves of absence with employees; provide LOA documentation to employee
Support training and development initiatives; track and audit completion of legal and company-required professional development and training
Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies and procedures when necessary; enter employment changes data into payroll and other systems, and audit for accuracy and compliance; pull reporting from HR systems and synthesize summary or findings for the CEO’s review; serve as a primary contact for reporting workplace injuries and illnesses and work with workers’ compensation vendor to manage claims and annual audit; respond to unemployment claims in a timely manner
Assist in developing and executing policies providing guidance and interpretation to managers and employees; support annual Employee Handbook review and updates based on compliance and org-specific policies
Qualifications:
Demonstrates understanding of general HR policies, procedures, and best practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ethics, confidentiality of sensitive information, and cultural awareness
Proven ability to manage and communicate complex employee benefits programs, including 401(k) and health plans
Ability to stay informed and on top of how the ever evolving employment law and compliance landscape will affect HR and org operations
Resourceful mindset and strong attention to detail
Aptitude in problem solving - identifying issues/gaps and suggesting solutions
Flexibility to adapt to change and shifting/competing priorities
Comfortable working with office and HR technologies and ability to learn new technologies; experience with data analysis or a strong interest in learning about AI tools
Proven ability to work collaboratively across departments and build cross-functional relationships
Exhibits a growth and learning mindset
Certifications such as PHR and SHRM-CP are valued
Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or related field
3-5 years of experience in HR operations
Experience working in architectural design, engineering design and/or construction professional services preferred

Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000
