Salary Range: $95,000 - $120,000
Position Description:
The Job Captain contributes in the design process under the supervision of the PM/Principal, the client and other team members. The JC relies on more active engagement from the firm Principals to set design direction and continue the design development across all design phases.
Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000
Responsibilities:
- Leads design coordination, ensuring that all documents, drawings, and specifications meet project requirements and align with the firm’s quality standards
- Manages and supervises junior staff and reports to Project Manager I or above
- Prepares and coordinates construction documents and details, maintaining technical accuracy and design integrity
- Produces outline specifications and ensures all documentation aligns with the project’s aesthetic and technical goals
- Responsible for all phases of project development including document planning and coordination as well as detail development, design development and preparation of project presentation drawings and construction documents
- Understands and manages more complex permitting processes [CEQA / variances, etc]
- Leads CA process
- Provide technical expertise to ensure coordinated, high quality construction documents
- Participates in client presentations and may lead project meetings, contributing to strong and collaborative relationships
Qualifications
- Accredited degree in Architecture
- 5-6 years minimum of professional, high-end residential experience
- May be licensed or non-licensed but close to license
- Excellent ability to communicate visually
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive, organized, and collaborative with exceptional problem-solving skills
- Advanced skill in 3D modeling/BIM software and 2D drafting (ArchiCAD strongly preferred, but not required)
- Ability to manage complex assignments and/or small to midsized teams
- Technical knowledge of Type V construction
