This French Provincial seeks to honor the traditionally formal spaces of the former French Consulate, while also breaking the mold to create bold, open, and comfortable spaces—continually linking the indoors to the park, rear yard, and bay views.
The open floor plan of the family room and kitchen boasts a mix of original detailing, statement steel and zinc accents, and soft mid-century furnishings for an eclectic tone unique to the home and family it hosts. No detail went overlooked in the complete restoration of the formal Living Room, Dining Room, and Entry. While the essence of the original architecture is a steadfast link between these spaces, there was no shying away from statement colors and prints to give these formal rooms new life. The level of formality shifts between floors, allowing the focus to shift from the internal to the external.
Not your traditional home gym— the maple flooring and impact resistant drywall in the field house not only pay homage to grade-school gymnasiums, but also can be transformed to a field hockey court, aerial yoga class, or game room as desired.
