Architectural Digest provided great coverage of our Berkeley Hills Tree House this month. Originally designed by regionalist architect Richard Ratcliffe in 1960, the home underwent a five year renovation that concluded in 2025.
This project was an exercise in the preservation of architectural identity—retaining, celebrating, and elevating this home’s mid-century design DNA was key in our restoration. To do it, we focused on creating a more cohesive material and experiential continuity throughout the house, introducing new spatial moments, and strengthening the connections between floors.
