Ayla Auerhahn

Ayla Auerhahn, Designer

Ayla joined Butler Armsden in late 2016 after receiving her masters in architecture from SCI-Arc. While at school, she helped design and build a home in partnership with Habitat for Humanity that has since won an LA AIA Merit Award.

After graduating, Ayla took the opportunity to travel the world with her husband and landed in places like Patagonia, Croatia, and the Philippines. Also on their itinerary were architectural destinations such as Villa Tugendhat, La Sagrada Familia and Parco della Musica.  Ayla is currently inspired by Tadao Ando and Japanese culture in general, and would love to visit Japan someday.

Ayla was drawn to both the density and natural beauty of San Francisco and loves that you can discover so much of the city by foot. If not on a hike with her pup, you can find her at a dance class, lost in a good book, or out to dinner with friends.
