Ayla Auerhahn

Junior Project Manager

M.Arch l Southern California Institute of Architecture

After growing up in Texas, Ayla headed west to Los Angeles to attend school. She received her bachelor’s degree from USC and her master’s degree from the Southern California Institute of Architecture before joining the Butler Armsden team in 2016.

Entering the field of Architecture was an easy decision for Ayla, who has always been drawn to hands-on activities, tangible results, and creating things for others to enjoy. Ayla wasted no time gaining experience, and landed her first internship by her senior year of high school!

For her grad school thesis project, Ayla had the opportunity to work with Habitat for Humanity in Los Angeles. She designed and built a single-family home in Compton that has since won a handful of awards, including an AIA LA Merit Award. But the best reward of the project, she says, is that the family who lives there absolutely loves the home.
