Barbara grew up in Houston, Texas where she received her B.Arch from Rice University. As part of her education at Rice, she completed a yearlong internship at Weiss/Manfredi in New York. Although she thoroughly enjoyed working on many different aspects of large public and private projects, it reaffirmed her suspicion of wanting to work on single-family residences.
After graduating, Barbara was one of four employees at a small residential firm in New York before she decided to make the move to San Francisco. She joined Butler Armsden in 2017.
Growing up, Barbara always enjoyed looking at peoples’ homes and remembering how a well-designed building made her feel. Her favorite part about design is how personal taste, habit, and function can combine to express the uniqueness of how a person lives.
