Sascha Fawaz

Designer I

M. Arch | U.C. Berkeley
B.A. | McGill University

Born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon, Sascha developed an early appreciation for traditional Lebanese architecture and the challenges to preservation that exist in a dynamic urban environment. Growing up in a family of architects and spending time on construction sites as a young person was impactful and no doubt informed a natural transition from a finance background to a career in architecture after her undergrad studies.

Sascha holds a BA in Commerce with a concentration in Finance from McGill University and a M.Arch from UC Berkeley. During graduate studies, she served as a Teaching Assistant at the Jacobs Institute for Design and Innovation and the Fung Institute of Leadership, earning a Berkeley teaching certificate. Her academic work was recognized with the Branner and Stump Travel Fellowship, and the Chester Miller Fellowship for research centered on architectural preservation and cultural heritage in Lebanon.

Sascha’s professional experience includes real estate and design roles, notably an architecture internship with Bernard Khoury in Beirut. Her interests focus on historical preservation and residential housing, areas closely aligned with San Francisco’s architectural landscape.

Outside of the office, Sascha pursues photography, capturing architecture and portraits on both film and digital. Influenced by artists such as Olafur Eliasson, she values design that is playful, immersive, and thoughtful. With a preference for simplicity, Sascha views architecture through an everyday lens, shaping how people move through and experience the world.
