Sequine is originally from China and received her Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Tsinghua University in Beijing. She then moved to the United States to complete her Master of Architecture program at the University of California, Berkeley. During her Master's study, Sequine chose to take a gap year and returned to China to intern at two architecture firms — Atelier Deshaus and DnA Architects.
In her spare time, Sequine likes to travel the world and take in architecture. So far, she has been to Vatican City in Italy, Cologne in Germany, Rotterdam in the Netherlands, Bali in Indonesia, and Kyoto in Japan to see the architecture nurtured by different cultures. She is deeply impressed by the spirit of place in architecture. In addition, she also likes to walk around her neighborhood, feeling and exploring the charm of the city’s architecture.
